We've got your skills, expertise and passion locked down.

But does it make money?!?!

Are there people out there doing the same thing you want to do and are they making money?!

At this point it is time to do some competitor research.

What are your competitors doing that you like? dislike?
What services or products are they offering? How much?
What do their reviews say about them?
Do they have a signature framework?
Do they have something that makes them unique?

3. PROFITS BABYYYYYY

WHAT DO YOU LOVE?!

What could you talk about forever and never get bored of?

If someone asked you to teach about something for an hour with no prep time what would that be?

What do you naturally gravitate towards?

What do you're friends and family say you're obsessed with?

Just because you may be skilled in something doesn't mean it is your passion. This passion piece is the whole reason you're going through this! You know you're ready to help other do XYZ, you're tired of seeing people struggle through ABC because you've been there and you know how frustrating it can be.

What lights you up?!

2. Passion

There are several ways to find your skills and expertise:

Reflect on your past experiences: Think about the jobs you've had, the projects you've worked on, and the hobbies you have. What skills have you developed over the years that you can leverage

Ask for feedback: Ask colleagues, friends, and family members for feedback on your strengths and weaknesses. They may be able to give you an outside perspective on your skills and expertise.

Look for patterns: Look for patterns in the types of tasks you enjoy doing, and the types of problems you like to solve. These patterns can reveal your natural skills and expertise.

My personal favourite is.. What do people come to you for? What do you help others with??

Narrowing down your skills and expertise will ultimately highlights who you're able to help and how you may be able to help them.

1. Skills and Expertise

Your skills and expertise + Your passion + PROFIT = a money making machine that you're going to love working on!!

FIND YOUR TRULY STRONG TRIFECTA!!!

Okayy...... BUT HOW

Here's the tidbit NO ONE tells you online because they want you to pay for it...

When you are deciding on your niche you need it to be able to contract and expand

Let me explain; let's use a fitness coach for example.

When you're just starting out you want to have a specific niche so there is 0 confusion in what you do and who you help

ie. I help busy moms lost the last 10-15lbs without giving up wine and pizza.

When someone comes to your social media they will know that your diet plans aren't restrictive, your programmed workouts aren't 2.5 hours long and you specialize in fat loss specifically towards mothers.

Which can expand into...

I help women lose weight without giving up the foods they love.

Into...

I help people feel confident through movement and food freedom

See how that just turned into one specific group of people to a way more expanded group of people. If you niche down properly you will never be pigeonholed because you know there will always been option for expansion.

BUT in the beginning to make money quickly, to gain trust, build relationships and be seen as an expert you're going to have to contract that niche then expand when the business expands.

HOW TO PROPERLY NICHE DOWN IN 2023

Niching down is important because it allows you to focus on a specific group of customers or audience, which can lead to faster results, and incredible benefits for your business that cannot be denied. Benefits like..

Increased expertise: People buy from EXPERTS and confused people DON'T BUY. Period. By niching down you are able to become and expert in that area which establishes credibility and trust

Increased efficiency: In the beginning of every business you wear all the hats, by honing in on one specific problem to solve for one group of people this will help you create better targeted marketing, services which leads to increased efficiency and lower costs

Increased competition: When you niche down you will know exactly who your competitors are. What you like about them, what you'd do differently, how you are different which allows you to stand out in any market

Increased customer loyalty: The best way to continuously make money is by having a low turn over rate. Niching down allows you to develop deeper relationships with your customers and this can lead to increase in customer loyalty, referrals and repeat business (I've been with my fitness coach longer than I have been with my husband)

Increased profitability: MONEY HONEY!!! You're targeting a specific group of people and solving their specific problem... people are willing to pay more for specialized services.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO NICHE DOWN?

So, how do we niche down in a way that is going to make us income in the short term but also can expand in the long term without fully needing to overhaul our entire business?

Let's Dive in.

EVEN AMAZON STARTED OUT WITH JUST BOOKS

I really felt I needed to re-address this topic because I have been seeing HORRIBLE misinformation all over social media from "expert" marketers saying the niche is dying in 2023 and you're the niche.

HEAR ME RIGHT NOW

There is a MASSIVE difference between and NICHE and a PERSONAL BRAND.

By definition a niche is..
a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service.

A personal brand is..
how you project your brand and its values to the world and ensure that your target audience knows who you are, what you stand for and having the total experience of having a relationship with YOU.

Not the same thing. I fully believe that every service provider should be marketing their service as a personal brand.

BUT IT'S 2023 WHO NEEDS A NICHE !?!
